KnockPortal — a daily permit registry for licensed contractors.
KnockPortal is a subscription software service built and operated by Abalon Construction Management LLC. It compiles newly issued building permits from official municipal open-data sources and delivers them, filtered to a subscriber's trade and service area, by email every morning.
Building permits are public record. In practice they are hard to use: every city publishes them differently, most records are irrelevant to any single trade, and by the time a permit surfaces through a general search it is no longer new. KnockPortal exists to close that gap.
Abalon builds and runs the product in house. A data pipeline reads each city’s open-data interface on a daily schedule, normalizes the records, classifies them by scope of work, and sends each subscriber only the permits that match the trade and area they pay for. There is no reseller between the municipal record and the subscriber.
Who it is for.
KnockPortal serves licensed specialty contractors working in residential trades — the firms and owner-operators who do the work a permit describes, and who benefit from reaching a property owner while the job is still being planned. Each morning, newly issued permits matching the subscription arrive by email — address, scope of work, job value, and issue date.

Reach the owner
The subscriber contacts the property owner directly, through channels they are legally permitted to use. KnockPortal never contacts owners on a subscriber's behalf.

Billing and support.
KnockPortal subscriptions are billed by Abalon Construction Management LLC as the merchant of record. Card payments are processed by Stripe; Abalon does not store card details. Subscription terms, the privacy policy that governs subscriber data, and cancellation are handled at knockportal.com.
