The company builds and operates software for the construction industry in house. Its first released product is KnockPortal, a subscription service that compiles newly issued building permits from official municipal open-data sources and delivers them, filtered by trade and service area, to licensed specialty contractors. Abalon works with property owners and project sponsors on scope definition, preliminary budgeting, contractor selection, permitting pathway, and documentation review for residential and small commercial work, subject to applicable licensing, permitting, zoning, and professional requirements.
Compiling and interpreting municipal permit records, permitting requirements, zoning context, and jurisdictional process for specific parcels and markets — both as a standalone service and as the research foundation underneath the company's data products.
Abalon is sourcing and reviewing selected land opportunities for preliminary screening and possible future projects. The company focuses on vacant land, infill lots, raw land with development potential, subdivision candidates, and parcels near growing residential areas.
We evaluate property type, location, zoning context, access, utilities, permitting pathway, and project feasibility when reviewing selected land and development opportunities that may align with the company's long-term business direction.
Abalon reviews underutilized properties, older buildings suitable for renovation, adaptive reuse candidates, small commercial buildings, mixed-use properties, and properties requiring repositioning or reconstruction.
